Kula talks SWD mission, veterans to North Texas Commission
SWD Commander, Brig. Gen. Tom Kula addressed members of the North Texas Commission at a luncheon Aug. 15, to discuss the Corps mission and emphasized the importance of supporting veterans and wounded warriors. Kula provided the crowd of business owners, community members, entrepreneurs, veterans and military members with a short briefing about SWD, its mission and priorities followed by a sit down Q&A session hosted by former Dallas County Commissioner, Maurine Dickey. Dickey asked Kula questions about the Corps role in the drought, the importance of hiring veterans and the significance in promoting science, technology, engineering and math skills in middle school through college age students. The North Texas Commission is a not-for-profit organization that brings together businesses, government entities and higher education institutions to enhance the economic vitality of North Texas
