U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Conduct Stakeholder Session on WRDA 2018 Implementation Guidance

Washington (February 1, 2019) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct a Stakeholder Session, Monday, Feb. 11, to get public input on USACE development of implementation guidance for various provisions contained in the Water Resources Development Act of 2018 (WRDA 2018).

WRDA 2018 was signed into law Oct. 23, 2018, as Title I of the America's Water Infrastructure Act of 2018.

USACE will also seek implementation guidance input for two provisions of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014 and three provisions of the Water Resources Development Act of 2016 during the session.

The purpose of the Stakeholder Session is to enable stakeholders and the public to provide input on specific provisions requiring implementation guidance.  USACE encourages participants to share their thoughts and comments on any problems, challenges, impacts or other factors they see as being critical for consideration during the development of implementation guidance.

The Stakeholder Session will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern at the USACE headquarters in the Government Accountability Office building, 441 G Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20314.  Attendees must enter the H Street side of the building.

Due to security procedures for entering the GAO building, those interested in attending the Stakeholder Session in person must call ahead or email not later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, to register to be placed on the access roster.  Attendees must present valid picture identification for entry to the building.

The session will also be available by teleconference for those who cannot attend in person.  The teleconference may be joined five minutes prior to the scheduled 8 a.m. Eastern start time.  To participate by phone, dial (800) 288-8960.

All stakeholders, including those participating by phone, are welcome to provide oral comments during the session and will be selected to speak on a first-come, first-served basis.

USACE is currently accepting stakeholder comments on WRDA 2018 implementation guidance during the ongoing 60-day comment period that closes midnight, Feb. 12.  Information about how to submit comments can be found at
