  • $5.6 million dollar Hurricane Ike repair project to close Skyline Drive

    TEXAS CITY, Texas (January 31, 2019) – Skyline Drive is scheduled to close from February 1 thru March 31, 2019 for repairs as part of a $5.6 million U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Hurricane Flood Protection Project. “Hurricane Ike caused previous erosion and the closure will allow us to safely move heavy equipment and material along the road,” said Jantzen Miller, a USACE Galveston District project manager.

    WALLISVILLE, Texas (Jan 31, 2019) – Small game hunting permits are ready for issue. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District’s Wallisville Lake Project Office staff is now issuing small game hunting permits for the 2019 season as part of the Wildlife Management Program. This is a pilot program to increase public hunting availability at the Wallisville Lake Project.
