Welcome to the Southwestern Division’s Regional Contracting Team!

About the SWD Regional Contracting Program

The Southwestern Division is comprised of five execution contracting offices and one regional support office.  The mission execution teams include the Fort Worth, Tulsa, Galveston and Little Rock Districts, as well as a regional Interagency and International Services (IIS) contracting team. The overall contracting mission is the responsibility of the Regional Chief of Contracting (RCC) team, who also serves as business advisors to the Division Commander. Although the RCC team does not award contracts directly, each member of the team is wholly committed to supporting the Mission and delivering VALUE to our nation.  Please feel free to click on each contracting site for more details and let us know if we can provide more information.

Galveston District "Winter 2023 Industry Day"

Galveston District held its “Winter 2023 Industry Day” at the Moody Gardens Convention Center with special guest speaker, Mr. David Curry, the Southwestern Division (SWD) Regional Chief of Contracting, who briefed Industry on a myriad of contracting challenges and cybersecurity matters.  The Industry Day provided an opportunity for industry partners to meet with USACE personnel from the Galveston District, the SWD, and Non-Federal Stakeholders, to receive updates on current and upcoming projects.  The event included several breakout sessions for specific location projects, such as Freeport Channel, Corpus Christi Ship Channel, Houston Ship Channel, Sabine Neches Waterway, Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay (S2G) Port Arthur, and Fiscal Year 2023 Operations and Maintenance (O&M) projects.  A detailed program forecast and updates on developing requirements, such as the Sabine to Galveston Bay Project, was provided along with the recently approved Coastal Texas Program.  Special briefings also provided an outlook on the current Construction and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Program, overviews of the O&M Program, Navigation Portfolio, and an Orange County Project Specific set-aside session with the Program Manager and Contracting Officer to explain the use of Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) strategies SWG is incorporating in its requirements. In addition to other breakout sessions, and networking opportunities, for both large and small businesses, the briefing enabled companies to discuss partnering or subcontracting possibilities.
