Southwestern Division welcomes new commander

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, hosted a change of command today at the Westin Downtown Dallas. Col. George H. Walter took command of the Division from Brig. Gen. Kenneth N. Reed in a ceremony officiated by Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, 55th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Reed returns to North Texas to command the Southwestern Division

Col. Kenneth N. Reed took command of the Southwestern Division, May 5, in a ceremony officiated by Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Reed assumed command from Brig. Gen. Christopher G. Beck, who has served as the commander since 2020. Beck will move to Fort Hood, Texas, to serve as the Deputy Commanding General, III Corps.
