• Galveston District to host Regulatory Program Workshop

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District will host a workshop on their regulatory program for all interested parties, September 25, 2023. The event, running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will take place at the district’s headquarters located at 2000 Fort Point Road, Galveston, Texas 77550.
  • SWG to seek rights-of-entry from Orange County property owners

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District real estate specialists will be going door to door seeking rights of entry (ROEs) from Orange County property owners, July 14. The Galveston District is seeking the ROEs to conduct cultural resource and geotechnical investigations in support of the Orange County Coastal Storm Risk Management Project. The Orange County Project is part of the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay (S2G) Coastal Storm Risk Management Program.
  • Army Corps hosts $900M architect-engineer services capacity conference

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District will host a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) Pre-Proposal Conference for potential Architect and Engineering (A-E) service-related government contractors Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 1-4 p.m. CST, at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jadwin Building, 2000 Fort Point Rd, Galveston, TX 77550. This event is open to all large and small businesses interested in working with the Galveston District. The conference will include presentations from USACE staff and an open session for participants to ask District staff questions.
  • USACE seeks public input on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System 12-foot Channel Deepening Project

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock and Tulsa Districts are seeking public input on the MKARNS 12-foot Channel Deepening Project. Public comment for the draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment will be held between June 5 and July 8.
  • NAVIGATION NOTICE Number SWL 23-26 McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System

    The Baring Cross Railroad Bridge will be closed to navigation from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 11 and June 13. The closure is to facilitate required maintenance and repairs to the bridge.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 23-24 Lock 9 Unscheduled Lock Closure

    Due to unforeseen difficulties with the work mentioned in Navigation Notice No. SWL 23-19, Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9 is temporarily closed to traffic. Crews are on site working and will have the Lock opened as soon as the problem can be resolved. A subsequent Navigation Notice will be issued once the Lock has been opened to traffic.
  • USACE closes swim beaches at Lost Bridge North and Damsite Peninsula until further notice

    ROGERS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office has closed the swim beaches at Lost Bridge North and Damsite Peninsula on Beaver Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by project office personnel.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District in partnership with the Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary and Entergy attended a Safe Boating Week Proclamation ceremony where Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders declared May 20-26 as Safe Boating Week in the Natural State.

    Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at Canyon Lake will temporarily close the dam service road for embankment maintenance May 22 - 25, 2023.

    The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today announced the signing of a final rule to implement a new credit assistance program for dam safety projects.
