FORT WORTH, Texas – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announce today that the road across the Grapevine Lake Dam will remain closed until repairs are complete.
Although the dam continues to function as designed, core samples indicate that increased vehicle traffic could cause damage to the underlying road bed. Further investigations, testing, planning and construction of road repairs will have to be accomplished prior to reopening the road to public access. The Fort Worth District will provide an estimated time of completion when more details and funding are available.
Grapevine Lake’s flood risk management, water supply and other mission areas continue to be accomplished. Public safety is our concern and priority and we appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued patience.
